BAR HOA Committees

ALC Committee

The ALC's objective is to facilitate the efficient and orderly review and approval of proposed repairs, improvements or modifications consistent with the Bel Air Ridge Governing Documents and applicable law.

CALC Committee

The mission of Bel Air Ridge’s Common Area Landscape Committee is to advise the BAR Board of Directors on landscape management, maintenance, and planning in the community’s common areas.  The Committee seeks to promote water conservation, fire mitigation and community aesthetics and to support efficient and cost-effective landscape management.

EPAC Committee

The mission of the Bel Air Ridge Emergency Preparedness Advisory Committee (EPAC) is to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of emergency preparedness.  It also is to make recommendations to the Board of Directors on emergency preparedness issues in management operations and to encourage individual homeowners’ preparedness in the case of disaster.

EPAC addresses its mission by planning Association-sponsored community emergency preparedness events; providing the opportunity for individuals to network and regularly practice radio communications to provide further information to the Board and management; monitoring available State, City, County and Local resources for responding to emergencies; and sharing printed and on-line information and reminders on official recommended preparedness protocols.

Neither EPAC nor the Bel Air Ridge Homeowners Association can provide for and/or safeguard the safety and security of Bel Air Ridge residents in the event of an emergency.  Although all Association members are responsible for making their own decisions and or taking precautions in the event of an emergency, EPAC strives to inform and encourage individuals to prepare their households.

Fitness Committee

The Fitness Committee strives to make the gym welcome to all HOA members with state-of-the-art cardio machines, weights, exercise equipment and classes befitting a first class gym.

Wine Committee

Mission Statement:  The purpose of the Wine Committee is to promote the education of wine exclusively to our HOA members and guests and to provide event opportunities to taste and experience wines from different regions of the world. This group is open to any Bel Air Ridge HOA member. It is designed for those who have an interest in learning and tasting a) high quality wines and b) wines that have a high quality per value ratio.

The Wine Committee also creates  a social environment whereby adult (over 21 year of age) Bel air Ridge community members can get to know and socialize with each other to create a sense of community.

The Wine Committee is self supporting, and each member is expected to contribute a specified  fee (currently $25.00) per person per meeting to purchase wine for the monthly tastings. The fee can vary, if the committee approves, so as to taste more expensive wines occasionally. The wines for the community meetings are chosen by the wine committee by majority vote. It should be assumed that there will be one meeting per month. Occasionally additional meetings may be required. Occasionally field trips for committee members may be arranged.

It is assumed that every member of the wine committee will attend every meeting and that if a member is unable to attend, will notify the treasurer  (Ron Cornell) of the committee a week in advance. If such notice is not given, the member will pay the fee for the wine tasting. We need every member’s opinion and vote as well as the fee to pay for the wine. Any member who does not attend a least 50% of the meetings will be automatically dropped.

Every member of the wine committee should be ready to be called upon to participate in the development of the committee or community meetings. Members should all have at least one Wine decanter and funnel to share the decanting of wines. Members should also be available to pick up wines, food or other materials for the committee meetings.

Members who may be married couples pay a fee for each person. Married couples can cast only one vote per couple.

Because the committee is devoted to discussions of wine, political discussions are not allowed.

Community meetings:  The Wine Committee produced as minimum  of 4 community meeting for which the entire Bel air Ridge Community is invited limited only by space requirements. These meetings are formal and organized. The meetings offer short talks on cultural, geographic, social and history of wine as well as how wine is produced in addition to tasting wine and socializing

During these meetings various wines will be presented by members of the Wine committee and members agree to study and develop a short talk ( 2 to 4 minutes) on each wine which may be verbal or may be accompanied by visuals and/or handouts.
